Childbed

The first days and weeks after birth are intense and an important time to lay the foundation for a healthy family life. It should be a particularly sheltered time—for the child, but also for the new mother, who should be allowed to heal and grow into her new role.

During the first 56 days, I will accompany you with home visits. The frequency of visits depends on the needs and medical situation of the family. In addition to medical check-ups for mother and child, I advise the family on breastfeeding or bottle feeding, baby care, division of tasks, carrying, etc. I take time for questions and see how I can do something good for the family. If required and if interested, I perform rituals such as a healing bath according to B. Meissner or the Mexican transition ritual Closing the bones.

Preliminary Meeting

I am happy to get to know the families during pregnancy. Such a preliminary meeting can take place during a pregnancy check-up, a birth preparation class, or a privately billed consultation. It is not mandatory.

Costs

16 visits for first-time mothers, after premature birth, cesarean section, or multiple births; otherwise, 10 visits are covered by health insurance. Since births cannot usually be predicted exactly, midwives charge an on-call fee. This amounts to CHF 150. Some municipalities cover CHF 115.
